Regular Season Round 29: ALBA - Telekom Bsk 93-67
Date: April 12, 2014
Not a big story in a game when 6th ranked Telekom Baskets (17-12) were outplayed on the road by third ranked ALBA Berlin (21-7) 93-67 on Saturday. The game without a history. ALBA Berlin led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 17-of-20 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game. ALBA Berlin outrebounded Telekom Baskets 35-23 including a 22-11 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was Croatian power forward Leon Radosevic (208-90) who scored 14 points and 6 rebounds. American swingman Reggie Redding (196-88, college: Villanova) chipped in 13 points and 5 rebounds. Five ALBA Berlin players scored in double figures. American guard Ryan Brooks (193-88, college: Temple, agency: Pro One Sports) produced 16 points and the other American import point guard Eugene Lawrence (184-86, college: St.John's, agency: Two Points) added 9 points and 4 assists respectively for the guests. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. ALBA Berlin have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain third place with 21-7 record having five points less than leader B.Muenchen. Loser Telekom Baskets keep the sixth position with 12 games lost. ALBA Berlin will face New Yorker Phantoms (#14) in Braunschweig in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Telekom Baskets will play at home against EWE Baskets (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
