Very expected game when 18th ranked Hacettepe (3-28) was smashed by seventh ranked Pamukkale (19-12) in Ankara 79-36 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Pamukkale. Hacettepe was better in fourth quarter 16-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Hacettepe to just 4 points in second quarter and to 13 points in first half. Pamukkale held Hacettepe to an opponent 23.3 percent shooting from the field compared to 50.8 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded Hacettepe 39-23 including a 30-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a very good performance for Latvian guard Armands Skele (192-83) who helped to win the game recording 15 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists. Bosnian-Slovenian center Hasan Rizvic (212-84) contributed with 18 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Center Eyup Aydogan (206-89) answered with 13 points and 8 rebounds and Jordanian guard Sinan Eid (193-91) added 15 points in the effort for Hacettepe. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Pamukkale have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain seventh place with 19-12 record. Hacettepe lost twentieth fifth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 28 lost games. Pamukkale will face Antalya (#13) at home in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Hacettepe will play against Final Genclik (#8) in Bursa and hope to win that game.
