Regular Season Round 32: Avantazh-Pol. - SoyuzBasket 75-83

An interesting game for SoyuzBasket (19-2) which played road game in Kharkov against one of their biggest challengers Avantazh-Politekhnik (18-5). Second ranked SoyuzBasket managed to get a 8-point victory 83-75. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Avantazh-Politekhnik. The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 83-75. SoyuzBasket dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Avantazh-Politekhnik's 40. Power forward Maxim Parkhomenko (206-87) orchestrated the victory by scoring 16 points and 5 rebounds. American forward Akida McLain (206-86, college: Indiana, PA) contributed with 13 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. SoyuzBasket's coach Vladimir Bryaukhavetshy used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. point guard Vasyl Sayniyev (182-89) replied with 15 points and 6 rebounds and the former international Timur Arabadgi (192-81) added 16 points in the effort for Avantazh-Politekhnik. Four Avantazh-Politekhnik players scored in double figures. Newly promoted SoyuzBasket maintains second position with 19-2 record behind leader Kirovograd. Avantazh-Politekhnik at the other side keeps the third place with five games lost. SoyuzBasket will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Avantazh-Politekhnik will play on the road against BC-93 Pulsar in Rovno and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
