Very expected game when 18th ranked SC Rasta Vechta (5-24) was defeated at home by tenth ranked Phoenix Hagen (13-16) 75-67 on Saturday. The game without a history. Phoenix Hagen led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. The game was also dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was forward Larry Gordon (196-87, college: Cal Poly Pomona) who scored 22 points and 8 rebounds. point guard Henry Dugat (183-87, college: Baylor) chipped in 19 points and 5 rebounds. Forward Brandon Bowman (204-84, college: Georgetown) produced 22 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Richard Williams (177-87, college: San Diego St.) added 13 points respectively for the hosts. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Phoenix Hagen maintains tenth place with 13-16 record. SC Rasta Vechta lost twelfth consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay dead last with 24 lost games. Phoenix Hagen will face Deutsche Bank Skyliners (#12) in Frankfurt in the next round. SC Rasta Vechta will play at home against Walter Tigers (#17) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
