There was no surprise when 14th ranked Selcuk Universitesi (7-19) was defeated on the road by sixth ranked Usak (16-10) 91-78. The hosts were ahead by 4 points but lost the second period ending it with a 4-point deficit before their 33-16 run, which allowed them to win the game. Usak made 26-of-32 charity shots (81.3 percent) during the game. 25 personal fouls committed by Selcuk Universitesi helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American forward Justin Carter (193-87, college: Creighton) notched 23 points and 7 rebounds to lead the effort and naturalized Azerbaijani Orhan Haciyeva (200-89) supported him with 20 points. Five Usak players scored in double figures. Even 34 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds (on 13-of-17 shooting from the field) by American forward Troy Gillenwater (205-88, college: N.Mexico St.) did not help to save the game for Selcuk Universitesi. Forward Burak Selen (202-88) added 16 points and 6 rebounds for the guests. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Usak moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Besiktas and Karsiyaka. Selcuk Universitesi at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the fourteenth position with 19 games lost. Usak's next round opponent will be Galatasaray (#7) in Istanbul. Selcuk Universitesi will play at home against TED Kolejliler (#9) and hope to win that game.
