Very predictable result when third ranked Sampaense (11-9) won against 9th ranked Oliveirense (7-13) in Coimbra 89-78. The game was mostly controlled by Sampaense. Oliveirense was better in third quarter 27-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Sampaense dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Oliveirense's 36. Naturalized Sao Tome and Principe power forward Ekjersey Viana (203-77) scored 22 points and 9 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and American guard Chris Dowe (193-91, college: Bellarmine) chipped in 20 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest.
