The game had a very big importance for second-ranked SoyuzBasket as it allowed them to take a leadership position. SoyuzBasket smashed 16th ranked Kyiv-Vovcha zgraya in Shahtarsk 84-52. The game without a history. SoyuzBasket led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Kyiv-Vovcha zgraya to just 5 points in second quarter. SoyuzBasket dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Kyiv-Vovcha zgraya's 30. SoyuzBasket looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Kyiv-Vovcha zgraya's players. Swingman Anton Rozhkov (198-88) stepped up and scored 16 points for the winners and guard Ivan Tymoschuk (190-91) chipped in 6 points and 8 assists. SoyuzBasket's coach Vladimir Bryaukhavetshy felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was Volodymyr Pishchikov (187-94) with 26 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and forward Danil Ovcharenko (201-98) scored 6 points and 11 rebounds. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Kyiv-Vovcha zgraya at the other side, also newcomer in the league, stay dead last with 21 lost games. Kyiv-Vovcha zgraya will play next round against Koksokh-Stal trying to get back on the winning streak. SoyuzBasket will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game.
