Everything went according to plan when tenth ranked Phoenix Hagen (14-16) edged at home 12th ranked Deutsche Bank Skyliners (11-19) 66-63 on Thursday. The hosts trailed by 4 points at the halftime before their 33-26 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. American players dominated the game. It was a good game for forward Larry Gordon (196-87, college: Cal Poly Pomona) who led his team to a victory with 15 points and 9 rebounds. point guard David Bell (187-81, agency: Three Eye Sports) contributed with 17 points (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!) for the winners. Forward Jacob Burtschi (199-84, college: Air Force) replied with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds and Ramon Galloway (190-91, college: La Salle) added 15 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Deutsche Bank Skyliners. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Phoenix Hagen maintains tenth position with 14-16 record. Deutsche Bank Skyliners lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the twelfth place with 19 games lost. Phoenix Hagen will face higher ranked EWE Baskets (#4) in Oldenburg in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Deutsche Bank Skyliners will play at home against TBB Trier (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
