Not a big story in a game when 10th ranked Nevezis (10-20) was outscored by third ranked Siauliai (18-13) in Kedainiai 97-69 on Thursday. The game without a history. Siauliai led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 76 of its points in the paint compared to Nevezis' 28. They outrebounded Nevezis 43-17 including a 29-12 advantage in defensive rebounds. Siauliai looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a good game for Rokas Giedraitis (198-92) who led his team to a victory with 19 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. American center Bambale Osby (203-86, college: Maryland) contributed with 13 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Osby is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Coach Gediminas Petrauskas's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Tauras Jogela (203-93) replied with 21 points and guard Gintaras Leonavicius (194-83, agency: Players Group) added 16 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Nevezis. Five Siauliai and four Nevezis players scored in double figures. Siauliai have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains third position with 18-13 record having six points less than leader Tonybet. Loser Nevezis keeps the tenth place with 20 games lost. Siauliai are looking forward to face Lietuvos rytas (#4) in Vilnius in the next round. Nevezis will play on the road against Neptunas (#6) in Klaipeda and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
