There was no surprise when 8th ranked Lietkabelis (12-21) was outleveled on the road by third ranked Siauliai (18-13) 100-75 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 4 points at the halftime before their 58-29 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Siauliai looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a good game for Rokas Giedraitis (198-92) who led his team to a victory with 18 points. Forward Arnas Labuckas (203-87) contributed with 13 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Russian center Ivan Nelyubov (207-88) replied with 18 points and 9 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) and forward Darius Griskenas (194-84) added 20 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Lietkabelis. Five Siauliai and four Lietkabelis players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Siauliai have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains third position with 18-13 record having six points less than leader Tonybet. Lietkabelis lost third consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with 21 games lost. Siauliai are looking forward to face Lietuvos rytas (#4) in Vilnius in the next round. Lietkabelis will play at home against Juventus (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
