Everything went according to plan when sixth ranked Istanbul B.B. (21-11) beat on the road 9th ranked Balikesir (15-17) 81-71 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Istanbul B.B.. Balikesir was better in fourth quarter 22-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Hadi Ozdemir (203-83) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 15 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and American point guard Marque Perry (185-81, college: St.Louis, agency: N.E.T.) who added 18 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Four Istanbul B.B. players scored in double figures. Guard Onur Sonsirma (190-85, agency: 1x1 Sports) responded with 16 points and center Sercan Ergin (197-83) scored 12 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Istanbul B.B. have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Akhisar Bld and Yesilgiresun. Loser Balikesir keeps the ninth position with 17 games lost. Istanbul B.B. will face Pamukkale (#7) at home in the next round. Balikesir will play against ITU Istanbul and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
