No shocking result in a game when third ranked Anadolu Efes (20-7) beat 8th ranked Tofas (13-14) in Bursa 84-78 on Sunday. Tofas trailed by 11 points after 3 quarters before a 28-23 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 78-84 at the end of the game. Anadolu Efes looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a good game for international Birkan Batuk (196-90) who led his team to a victory with 22 points and 4 assists. American Jamon Lukas Gordon (191-84, college: Virginia Tech) contributed with 14 points, 8 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Anadolu Efes' coach Vangelis Agelou used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international forward Evren Buker (195-85) answered with 11 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and Nigerian power forward Chinemelu Elonu (206-87, college: Texas A&M) added 12 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Tofas. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Anadolu Efes maintains third place with 20-7 record having six points less than leader Banvit BK. Tofas at the other side keeps the eighth position with 14 games lost. Anadolu Efes will face Turk Telekom (#10) in Ankara in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Tofas will play on the road against Besiktas in Istanbul and hope to win that game.
