Regular Season Round 31: Tonybet - Dzukija 88-74

LKL top team - Tonybet (24-9) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat ninth ranked Dzukija (11-22) in Prienai 88-74. The game was mostly controlled by Tonybet. Dzukija was better in fourth quarter 31-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Dzukija 47-28 including a 32-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Tonybet players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. It was a quality performance for center Vaidas Cepukaitis (208-89, agency: Interperformances) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 17 rebounds. Guard Gintaras Kadziulis (192-80) accounted for 19 points and 6 assists for the winning side. Guard Giedrius Kurtinaitis (192-86) came up with 11 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists and guard Edgaras Svelginas (185-95) added 18 points respectively for Dzukija in the defeat. Five Tonybet and four Dzukija players scored in double figures. Tonybet maintains first place with 24-9 record. Dzukija lost seventh consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the ninth position with 22 games lost. Tonybet will play against Neptunas (#5) in Klaipeda in the next round. Dzukija will have a break next round.
