Regular Season Round 32: Art.Dragons - Telekom Bsk 65-82

The biggest surprise of round 32 was guest Telekom Baskets' (20-12) easy road victory over 5th ranked Artland Dragons (19-13) 82-65 on Friday evening. The game was mostly controlled by Telekom Baskets. Artland Dragons managed to win fourth quarter 18-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Telekom Baskets shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 51.7 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was Lithuanian guard Benas Veikalas (192-83, college: Metro St.) who scored 20 points. American forward Jamel McLean (203-88, college: Xavier) chipped in 9 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. American-Cypriot power forward Anthony King (206-85, college: Miami, FL, agency: Interperformances) produced 15 points and 6 rebounds and American point guard David Holston (168-86, college: Chicago St., agency: Priority Sports) added 8 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Telekom Baskets have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place. Artland Dragons at the other side dropped to the sixth position with 13 games lost. Telekom Baskets are looking forward to face New Yorker Phantoms (#14) in Braunschweig in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Artland Dragons will play on the road against ratiopharm Ulm (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
