There was no surprise when 16th ranked s Oliver Baskets (10-23) lost on the road to third ranked ALBA Berlin (25-7) 85-74 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by ALBA Berlin. s Oliver Baskets managed to win second period 15-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. ALBA Berlin made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game. The former international Jan-Hendrik Jagla (212-81, college: Penn St.) nailed 17 points and 7 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winning side and American point guard Clifford Hammonds (191-85, college: Clemson) accounted for 10 points and 5 assists. American point guard Dominic Waters (185-86, college: Portland St.) came up with 15 points and the other American import forward Marcellus Sommerville (200-82, college: Bradley) added 15 points respectively for s Oliver Baskets in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the eighth consecutive win for ALBA Berlin. They maintain third place with 25-7 record having just three points less than leader B.Muenchen. s Oliver Baskets at the other side keep the sixteenth position with 23 games lost. ALBA Berlin will meet league's leader Bayern Muenchen on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. s Oliver Baskets will play against BBC Bayreuth (#14) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
