Regular Season Round 36: Khimik-2 - BK Donetsk-2 82-79

The most exciting game of round 36 in the Higher League took place in Yuzhny. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 7th ranked BK Donetsk-2 (15-11) to sixth ranked Khimik-2 (18-8) 82-79 on Wednesday evening. The hosts trailed by 5 points at the halftime before their 29-15 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Khimik-2 dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to BK Donetsk-2's 26. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Khimik-2 made 7 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of Viacheslav Petrov (203-94) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 23 points, 13 rebounds and 7 assists and point guard Illya Sidorov (183-96) who added 13 points, 8 rebounds and 11 assists during the contest. Four Khimik-2 players scored in double figures. Khimik-2's coach used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was Sergiy Pavlov (199-97) with 25 points and 9 rebounds and point guard Vitaliy Zotov (186-97) scored 22 points, 8 assists and 5 steals. Khimik-2 have an impressive six-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Avangard. BK Donetsk-2 lost third consecutive game. BK Donetsk-2 at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the seventh position with 11 games lost.
