Rather expected game in Konya where 15th ranked Mersin (7-22) was defeated by thirteenth ranked Selcuk Universitesi (10-19) 83-79 on Thursday. Mersin trailed by 17 points at halftime and as many as 20 after three quarters before a 30-14 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 79-83 at the end of the game. American point guard Derrick Low (196-86, college: Washington St.) stepped up and scored 14 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners and his fellow American import forward Sean Williams (208-86, college: Boston Coll.) chipped in 13 points and 12 rebounds. Four Selcuk Universitesi players scored in double figures.
