Regular Season Round 34: B.Muenchen - ALBA 72-80

Date: May 4, 2014
The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Bayern Muenchen (29-5) at the home court on Sunday night. Hosts were defeated by third ranked ALBA Berlin (27-7) 80-72. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Bayern Muenchen. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 25-15. But Bayern Muenchen won second period 22-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American swingman Reggie Redding (196-88, college: Villanova) scored 21 points to lead the charge for the winners and American-Polish point guard David Logan (185-82, college: Indianapolis) chipped in 15 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American forward Deon Thompson (203-88, college: N.Carolina) responded with 11 points and 7 rebounds and his fellow American import center John Bryant (208-87, college: Santa Clara) scored 11 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. ALBA Berlin have an impressive ten-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 27-7 record having just two points less than leader B.Muenchen. Bayern Muenchen at the other side still keeps top place with five games lost.
