Regular Season Round 3: Neptunas - Nevezis 115-76

Neptunas delivered the third consecutive victory. This time they crushed Nevezis (1-2) 115-76 in Klaipeda. The game without a history. Neptunas led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Nevezis' 36 and made 20-of-22 charity shots (90.9 percent) during the game. Neptunas forced 19 Nevezis turnovers and outrebounded them 43-31 including a 33-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 29 assists. It was a quality performance for guard Martynas Mazeika (193-85, agency: Interperformances) who led the winners and scored 17 points and 5 assists. Forward Donatas Zavackas (203-80, college: Pittsburgh) accounted for 9 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists for the winning side. Four Neptunas players scored in double figures. American forward Thomas Davis (200-91, college: SW Oklahoma St.) came up with 18 points and 5 rebounds and the other American import guard Rod Camphor (190, college: SW Oklahoma St.) added 15 points and 5 assists respectively for Nevezis in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Neptunas' next round opponent will be Siauliai on the road, which may be the game of the day. Nevezis will play against Lietuvos rytas and hope to win that game.
