Regular Season Round 2: Heidelberg - ETB Wohnbau 58-82

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of MLP Academics Heidelberg (1-1) at the home court on Friday night. Hosts were rolled over by ETB Wohnbau (2-0) 82-58. The game without a history. ETB Wohnbau led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. ETB Wohnbau forced 20 MLP Academics Heidelberg turnovers. Center Christoph Hackenesch (204-86) scored 14 points and 9 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) to lead the charge for the winners and American point guard Chris Alexander (186-83, college: Southern) chipped in 15 points, 5 assists and 4 steals during the contest. Five ETB Wohnbau players scored in double figures. ETB Wohnbau's coach Igor Krizanovic felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American guard Bradley Tinsley (191-89, college: Vanderbilt) responded with 13 points and his fellow American import forward Kelvin Martin (195-89, college: Charleston So.) scored 10 points and 6 rebounds. ETB Wohnbau is looking forward to face Bayer Giants in Leverkusen in the next round and are hoping to win another game. MLP Academics Heidelberg will play on the road against SC Rasta Vechta and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
