Regular Season Round 2: Halle - Donau-Ries 69-66

The biggest surprise of round 2 in DBBL took place in Halle where host SV Halle Lions (1-1) edged Donau-Ries (1-1) 69-66 on Friday evening. The hosts trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 13-8 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was forward Laura Hebecker (181-93) who scored 22 points. American guard Tiffany Porter-Talbert (177-84, college: W.Kentucky) chipped in 11 points and 7 rebounds. SV Halle Lions' coach Jennifer Kerns used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American Melissa Jeltema (175-88, college: Oakland) produced 21 points and 5 rebounds and Canadian power forward Nayo Raincock-Ekunwe (188-91, college: Simon Fraser) added 17 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. Donau-Ries will play next round against Rhein Main Baskets trying to make it back to the top of the standings. SV Halle Lions will try to continue on its current victory against Eisvogel Freiburg on the road.
