Regular Season Round 2: Palanga - Perlas-MRU 86-83

A very close game took place in Palanga between Palanga and Perlas-MRU. Palanga (2-0) got a very close home victory over Perlas-MRU (1-1). Palanga managed to escape with a 3-point win 86-83 on Saturday evening. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 28-16. But Perlas-MRU won second period 25-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Palanga dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Perlas-MRU's 26. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Guard Erikas Kubilius (192-95) scored 33 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and point guard Deividas Anuzis (181-92) chipped in 18 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists during the contest. Guard Dominykas Domarkas (188-92) responded with 25 points and 6 rebounds and swingman Tadas Rinkunas (195-91) scored 20 points. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Palanga will meet at home Zalgiris II (#13) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Perlas-MRU will play against Zanavykas in Sakiai and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
