We should mention about the upset which took place in Craiova, where Craiova (0-2) lost at home to Rapid (1-1) 55-66. The game was mostly controlled by Rapid. Craiova was better in third quarter 23-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Craiova to just 6 points in second quarter. Rapid forced 23 Craiova turnovers and outrebounded them 45-29 including 17 on the offensive glass. Center Roxana Bejan (187) notched a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds to lead the effort and swingman Claudia Ene (178-88) supported her with 14 points and 9 rebounds. Even 22 points by forward Janina Simionca (176-84) did not help to save the game for Craiova. Swingman Adina Pop (173-88) added 14 points for the hosts. Rapid's next round opponent will be Galati at home. Craiova will play against Targu Mures and hope to win that game.
