But Walter Tigers were not able to use a home court advantage and lost to the opponent from Bonn 83-77 on Saturday night. The guests trailed by 2 points after three quarters before their 24-16 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Strangely Walter Tigers outrebounded Telekom Baskets 42-24 including 30 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was American point guard Eugene Lawrence (184-86, college: St.John's) who scored 14 points and 5 assists. The other American import guard Ryan Brooks (193-88, college: Temple) chipped in 15 points. Four Telekom Baskets players scored in double figures. American forward Augustine Rubit (201-89, college: S.Alabama) produced 9 points and 16 rebounds and Serbian forward Aleksandar Nadjfeji (203-76, agency: LUMANI 10.7) added 16 points respectively for the hosts. Walter Tigers' coach Igor Perovic tested ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Telekom Baskets will face ALBA Berlin at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Walter Tigers will play against Mitteldeutscher BC in Weissenfels and hope to win that game.
