Regular Season Round 2: Lichterfelde - Neuss 64-76

Very expected game when Lichterfelde (0-2) was defeated at home by TG Neuss (2-0) 76-64. The game was mostly controlled by TG Neuss. Lichterfelde was better in fourth quarter 20-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. TG Neuss brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. Power forward Jana Heinrich (188-86, college: San Diego St.) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds. American power forward Elizabeth Horton (185, college: Valparaiso) contributed with 13 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Four TG Neuss players scored in double figures. TG Neuss' coach Janina Pils allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Lena Gohlisch (173-93) replied with 19 points (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!) and power forward Satou Sabally (189-98) added 14 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Lichterfelde. TG Neuss will play against Barmer TV in Wuppertal in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Lichterfelde will play at home against SG BBZ Opladen and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
