Regular Season Round 3: Herner - Oberhausen 81-57

Herner TC (3-0) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they crushed Oberhausen (1-2) 81-57. The hosts trailed by 5 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 5-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 81-57. Herner TC dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Oberhausen's 42. Herner TC forced 21 Oberhausen turnovers and outrebounded them 43-30 including 29 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for American power forward Teya Wright (185-89, college: Providence) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 19 rebounds. The former international swingman Emina Karic (178-91) contributed with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. American forward Monique Reid (185-90, college: Louisville) answered with 17 points and 9 rebounds and the other American import guard Amber Stokes (178-90, college: Ohio St.) added 8 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Oberhausen. Herner TC is looking forward to face SV Halle Lions on the road in the next round. Oberhausen will play against ChemCats Chemnitz and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
