Regular Season Round 3: MBC - Walter Tigers 90-79

There was no surprise when Walter Tigers (0-3) lost to Mitteldeutscher BC (2-1) in Weissenfels 79-90. It looked good early as Walter Tigers took an 5-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Mitteldeutscher BC had a 35-20 second period charge getting the lead and Walter Tigers were not able to take back game control losing it eventually 79-90. Walter Tigers were plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for American swingman Patrick Richard (196-90, college: McNeese St., agency: KMG Sports Management) who led his team to a victory scoring 17 points and 5 rebounds. Naturalized Filipino forward Christian Standhardinger (203-89, college: Hawaii) helped adding 16 points. Mitteldeutscher BC's coach Silvano Poropat allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The best for the losing side was international center Bogdan Radosavljevic (213-93) with 18 points and 6 rebounds and Canadian guard Nicholas Wiggins (198-91, college: Wichita St.) scored 12 points and 5 rebounds. Five Mitteldeutscher BC and four Walter Tigers players scored in double figures. Mitteldeutscher BC will play against Braunschweig in Braunschweig in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Walter Tigers will play at home against Brose Baskets and hope to get finally their first victory.
