Regular Season Round 3: Palanga - Zalgiris II 87-85

Palanga edged Zalgiris II at home 87-85. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 22-18. But Zalgiris II won second period 22-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Palanga dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Zalgiris II's 38. They outrebounded Zalgiris II 49-34 including 34 on the defensive glass. Palanga looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. It was a good game for center Adomas Drungilas (204-90) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists. point guard Deividas Anuzis (181-92) contributed with 15 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Four Palanga players scored in double figures. Palanga's coach Paulius Barkus used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Power forward Martynas Echodas (204-97) answered with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds and center Nerijus Barauskas (207-92) added 24 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Zalgiris II. Zalgiris II will play next round against strong Zanavykas trying to get back on the winning streak. Palanga will try to continue on its current victory against Ezerunas-Karys in Moletai.
