Regular Season Round 4: Gmunden - Gussing 90-85

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Gmunden Swans as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Gmunden Swans defeated 4th ranked Gussing Knights at home 90-85. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Gussing Knights. Gussing Knights trailed by 14 points at halftime and as many as 17 after three quarters before a 26-14 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 85-90 at the end of the game. Worth to mention a great performance of international Richard Poiger (202-87) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 8 rebounds and American forward Tyler Griffey (206-90, college: Illinois, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) who added 18 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Five Gmunden Swans players scored in double figures. At the losing side international point guard Thomas Klepeisz (185-91) responded with 14 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists and American forward Travis Taylor (203-90, college: Xavier) scored 22 points and 5 rebounds. Gmunden Swans have a solid four-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Zepter Vienna. Defending champion Gussing Knights keep the fourth place with two games lost. They share the position with Arkadia and Wels. Gussing Knights will play next round against Furstenfeld Panthers trying to get back on the winning streak. Gmunden Swans will try to continue on its current victory against second ranked Zepter Vienna in Wien.
