An interesting game took place in Bursa where Edirne Basket (0-1) was upset on the court of Tofas (1-0) 88-79 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 4 points after three quarters before their 34-21 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Tofas outrebounded Edirne Basket 31-19 including 19 on the defensive glass. Americans were the main players on the court. point guard DaShaun Wood (185-85, college: Wright St.) stepped up and scored 18 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and Andre Smith (204-85, college: N.Dakota St.) chipped in 18 points and 5 rebounds. Tofas' coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side Craig Brackins (208-87, college: Iowa St.) responded with 25 points and swingman Matt Walsh (197-82, college: Florida) scored 17 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Tofas will face Selcuk Universitesi in Konya in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Edirne Basket will play at home against Karsiyaka and hope to win that game.
