Not a big story in a game when Trier (0-3) was outscored at home by ASC Theresianum Mainz (3-0) 80-58 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 10 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 4-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 80-58. ASC Theresianum Mainz dominated on the defensive end, holding Trier to just 5 points in third quarter. ASC Theresianum Mainz forced 22 Trier turnovers. It was a good game for forward Lilian Koch (180-90) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds. Czech guard Karolina Jandova (181-91) contributed with 16 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Forward Leonie Edringer (182-95) answered with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 11 rebounds and 5 blocks and forward Iris Jodes (179) added 8 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Trier. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. ASC Theresianum Mainz will face Ladybaskets Wuerzburg at home in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Trier will play against Don Bosco Bamberg and hopes to get finally their first victory.
