There was a small surprise when Lichterfelde (1-2) defeated at home SG BBZ Opladen (1-2) 73-68 on Saturday. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 24-9. But SG BBZ Opladen won second period 23-12. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Lichterfelde shot 64.6 percent from the field. It was a good game for power forward Satou Sabally (189-98) who led her team to a victory with 19 points and 4 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Lena Gohlisch (173-93) contributed with 16 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners. Center Mareike Nettersheim (186) answered with 9 points and 5 rebounds and forward Elena Kaster (172) added 12 points in the effort for SG BBZ Opladen. Four SG BBZ Opladen players scored in double figures. SG BBZ Opladen's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Lichterfelde will face Zehlendorf (#11) in Berlin in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game.
