Regular Season Round 5: Gussing - Furstenfeld 99-70

Bottom-ranked Furstenfeld Panthers (0-4) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 99-70 loss to fifth ranked Gussing Knights (3-2) in Gussing. The game without a history. Gussing Knights led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Gussing Knights forced 20 Furstenfeld Panthers turnovers. American forward Marcus Heard (201-84, college: De Paul) nailed 22 points for the winning side and his fellow American import forward Travis Taylor (203-90, college: Xavier) accounted for 13 points and 11 rebounds. Lithuanian power forward Petras Balocka (205-86, college: Hawaii) came up with 19 points and 9 rebounds and American point guard Chris Lowe (182-87, college: Massachusetts, agency: KMG Sports Management) added 16 points and 7 assists respectively for Furstenfeld Panthers in the defeat. Defending champion moved-up to third place, which they share with Arkadia and Kapfenberg. Furstenfeld Panthers lost their fourth game in a row. They still close the standings with four games lost. Gussing Knights' next round opponent will be league's second-placed Zepter Vienna in Wien and it will be for sure the game of the week.
