The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Lietuvos rytas as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Lietuvos rytas defeated 5th ranked Siauliai in Vilnius 98-92. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Siauliai. The hosts trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 50-41 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. 25 personal fouls committed by Siauliai helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of swingman Gediminas Orelikas (200-90) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 6 assists. International Adas Juskevicius (194-89) contributed with 16 points and 4 steals for the winners. Five Lietuvos rytas players scored in double figures. Power forward Julius Jucikas (205-89) answered with 16 points and 6 rebounds and Rokas Giedraitis (198-92) added 17 points in the effort for Siauliai. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Lietuvos rytas (6-0) have an impressive series of six victories in a row. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Neptunas. Siauliai at the other side keeps the fifth place with two games lost. Siauliai will play next round against Lietkabelis trying to get back on the winning streak. Lietuvos rytas will try to continue on its current victory against third ranked Zalgiris in Kaunas.
