Regular Season Round 6: Ezerunas-Karys - Delikatesas 75-64

NKL top team - Ezerunas-Karys (5-1) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat ninth ranked Delikatesas (3-3) in Moletai 75-64. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Delikatesas. The game was mostly controlled by Ezerunas-Karys. Delikatesas was better in fourth quarter 23-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The former international power forward Saulius Kuzminskas (210-82, college: California) scored 12 points and 8 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and forward Evaldas Baniulis (201-87, college: S.Carolina) chipped in 15 points and 5 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) during the contest. Four Ezerunas-Karys players scored in double figures. Ezerunas-Karys' coach Mindaugas Kildisius allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The best for the losing side was forward Benas Bagdonavicius (202-91) with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 14 rebounds and guard Paulius Klemas (185-91) scored 10 points. Ezerunas-Karys maintains first position with 5-1 record, which they share with Petrochema and Perlas-MRU. Delikatesas at the other side dropped to the sixth place with three games lost. They share the position with 4 other teams. Ezerunas-Karys will play against Suduva-Mantinga (#9) in Marijampole in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Delikatesas will play at home against Silute and hopes to get back on the winning track.
