Another interesting game for Lukoil Acad. (2-0) which played in Botevgrad against Balkan (1-1). Lukoil Acad. won 69-60. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 24-17. But Balkan won second period 16-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American guard Morris Curry (181-87, college: Providence) scored 19 points and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import forward Charles Thomas (203-86, college: Arkansas) chipped in 16 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. International Ivan Lilov (196-88) responded with 24 points and Serbian center Nenad Sulovic (202-85, agency: Beo Basket) scored 9 points and 10 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Lukoil Acad. will play against Rilski in Samokov in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Balkan will play on the road against Beroe in Stara Zagora to get more than just one victory in their record.
