Regular Season Round 2: Selcuk Univ. - Tofas 88-81

Selcuk Universitesi used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Bursa 88-81 on Saturday night. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 23-17. But Tofas won second period 19-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American forward Sean Williams (208-86, college: Boston Coll.) had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 14 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import guard Troy DeVries (193-82, college: N.Mexico) chipped in 21 points and 6 assists during the contest. American point guard DaShaun Wood (185-85, college: Wright St.) responded with 27 points and 4 assists and international Samet Geyik (205-93) scored 14 points and 9 rebounds. Five Selcuk Universitesi and four Tofas players scored in double figures. Tofas' coach let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Selcuk Universitesi will meet Karsiyaka on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Tofas will play against Anadolu Efes and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
