Regular Season Round 6: Rasai - Suduva-Mantinga 90-78

There was a small surprise when tenth ranked Rasai (3-3) beat at home 7th ranked Suduva-Mantinga (3-3) 90-78 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 1 point after three quarters before their 31-18 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Rasai made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Suduva-Mantinga was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for guard Giedrius Kurtinaitis (195-86) who led his team to a victory with 36 points (!!!). point guard Gediminas Butkus (183-89) contributed with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Rasai's coach Albertas Vilimas used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Forward Paulius Petrilevicius (201-91) replied with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 14 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and guard Paulius Kleiza (194-88) added 20 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Suduva-Mantinga. Rasai moved-up to sixth place, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated Suduva-Mantinga. Rasai will face league's second-placed Perlas-MRU in Vilnius in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
