Regular Season Round 4: Wuerzburg - Schwelm 88-80

Rather predictable result when top-ranked Wuerzburg (4-0) won against at home 4th ranked SG Schwelmer Baskets (2-2) 88-80 on Sunday. Wuerzburg dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to SG Schwelmer Baskets' 38 and made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. Quite impressive performance for American guard Donovan Morris (191-84, college: Long Beach St.) who helped to win the game recording 29 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. point guard Nico Brauner (185-94) contributed with 8 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Wuerzburg's coach Soren Zimmermann used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. American swingman Jody Johnson (193-88, college: Cent.Washington) replied with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds and center Sebastian Schroter (207-83) added 20 points in the effort for SG Schwelmer Baskets. Wuerzburg have a solid four-game winning streak. Newly promoted Wuerzburg maintains first position in Group South with 4-0 record. Loser SG Schwelmer Baskets dropped to the fifth place with two games lost. Wuerzburg will face TV Langen (#10) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. SG Schwelmer Baskets will play against White Wings (#12) and hope to win that game.
