The most surprising game was the first loss of undefeated Artland Dragons (4-1) in Bonn on Sunday night. Visitors were rolled over by fifteenth ranked Telekom Baskets (2-3) 99-77. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Artland Dragons. The hosts trailed by 5 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 99-77. Telekom Baskets made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. It was a great shooting night for Telekom Baskets especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. American-Italian forward Angelo Caloiaro (205-89, college: USF) orchestrated the victory by scoring 22 points and 5 assists (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field). American point guard Eugene Lawrence (184-86, college: St.John's) contributed with 14 points and 6 assists for the winners. Five Telekom Baskets players scored in double figures. American forward Lawrence Hill (203-87, college: Stanford) answered with 14 points and 7 rebounds and the other American import guard Antonio Graves (191-85, college: Pittsburgh, agency: Two Points) added 15 points and 4 assists in the effort for Artland Dragons. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Telekom Baskets moved-up to ninth place, which they share with 4 other teams. Artland Dragons at the other side keep the second position with one game lost. They share it with 4 other teams. Telekom Baskets is looking forward to face BG Goettingen (#13) on the road in the next round. Artland Dragons will play against Mitteldeutscher BC (#6) and are hoping to win this game.
