Regular Season Round 8: Neptunas - P.Zvaigzdes 110-84

LKL top team - Neptunas (7-0) had no problems winning another game on Monday. This time they crushed ninth ranked P.Zvaigzdes (2-6) in Klaipeda 110-84. The game was mostly controlled by Neptunas. P.Zvaigzdes managed to win fourth quarter 28-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Neptunas forced 20 P.Zvaigzdes turnovers. They shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 53.6 percentage. Neptunas looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international forward Deividas Gailius (200-88) who scored 19 points and 4 assists. International center Egidijus Dimsa (205-85) chipped in 13 points. Coach Kazys Maksvytis's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play all 12 players and allowed the starting five to rest. American power forward Alex Oriakhi (206-90, college: Connecticut) produced 19 points and 8 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Kyle Lamonte (191-84, college: William Carey) added 14 points and 6 assists respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Neptunas maintains first position with 7-0 record. Loser P.Zvaigzdes keeps the ninth place with six games lost. Neptunas will meet at home Lietuvos rytas in the next round, which may be the game of the day. P.Zvaigzdes will play against Mazeikiai and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
