Regular Season Round 6: Bad Aibling - Donau-Ries 65-77
Date: October 25, 2014
Bottom-ranked Bad Aibling is still unable to win any game. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their sixth consecutive match to ninth ranked Donau-Ries (3-3) 77-65 on Saturday evening. The game was mostly controlled by Donau-Ries. Bad Aibling managed to win second period 19-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Bad Aibling 34-23 including 24 on the defensive glass. Canadian power forward Nayo Raincock-Ekunwe (188-91, college: Simon Fraser) notched a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds to lead the effort and American Melissa Jeltema (175-88, college: Oakland) supported her with 19 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Even 21 points and 6 rebounds by American forward Candace Williams (184-88, college: New Hampshire) did not help to save the game for Bad Aibling. Forward Carla Bellscheidt (183-94) added 16 points. Donau-Ries moved-up to sixth place. Newly promoted Bad Aibling still closes the standings with six games lost. Donau-Ries will meet at home higher ranked Rotenburg/Scheessel in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
