Regular Season Round 3: Mamak DSI - Gelisim 64-68

There was no surprise in Ankara where Mamak DSI (0-3) was defeated by Gelisim (2-1) 68-64 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 7 points after three quarters before their 22-11 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Mamak DSI was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American center Marvin Jefferson (206-86, college: Idaho) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 13 rebounds. His fellow American import point guard Derek Williams (185-85, college: SMU) chipped in 14 points and 7 assists. Gelisim's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international swingman Rifat Murat Kaya (194-84, agency: 1x1 Sports) who recorded 15 points and 4 assists and power forward Nezih Ozbakir (206-80) added 12 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Gelisim will face Gediz at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
