Regular Season Round 3: Darussafaka - Turk Telekom 108-82

Darussafaka (3-0) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed Turk Telekom (0-3) in Istanbul 108-82. The game was mostly controlled by Darussafaka. Turk Telekom managed to win third quarter 23-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Darussafaka dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Turk Telekom's 40. They outrebounded Turk Telekom 29-15 including 23 on the defensive glass. Darussafaka shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 59.1 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. It was a quality performance for Lithuanian Renaldas Seibutis (196-85) who led the winners and scored 26 points and 4 assists (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). American-Lithuanian forward John Shurna (204-90, college: Northwestern, agency: Priority Sports) accounted for 25 points and 4 assists for the winning side. Darussafaka's coach Oktay Mahmudi felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. American guard Michael Roll (197-87, college: UCLA) came up with 16 points and 7 assists and the other American import forward Josh Carter (200-88, college: Texas A&M) added 23 points respectively for Turk Telekom in the defeat. Darussafaka will meet Usak on the road in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Turk Telekom will play against Royal Hali and hopes to get finally their first victory.
