Regular Season Round 9: Mazeikiai - P.Zvaigzdes 66-84

Bottom-ranked Mazeikiai (0-8) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 84-66 loss to ninth ranked P.Zvaigzdes (3-6) in Mazeikiai on Saturday evening. The guests trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 6-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 84-66. P.Zvaigzdes forced 22 Mazeikiai turnovers. Point guard Aidas Viskontas (185-86) stepped up and scored 17 points for the winners and Evaldas Kairys (203-90) chipped in 13 points and 6 rebounds. The best for the losing side was Latvian forward Raimundas Danys (196-85) with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds and point guard Eigirdas Zukauskas (201-92) scored 9 points. P.Zvaigzdes maintains ninth place with 3-6 record. Newly promoted Mazeikiai still closes the standings with eight games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
