Regular Season Round 3: Balikesir - Meliksah 87-65

The biggest surprise of round 3 in TB2L took place in Balikesir where host Balikesir (2-1) crushed Meliksah (2-1) 87-65 on Saturday evening. The game without a history. Balikesir led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. The best player for the winners was American forward Alan Wiggins (206-85, college: USF) who had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 16 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Aubrey Coleman (193-87, college: Houston) chipped in 19 points and 5 assists. Five Balikesir players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Sertay Gursu (195-87) who recorded 20 points and American point guard Leemire Goldwire (182-85, college: Charlotte, agency: Two Points) added 12 points and 6 rebounds respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Meliksah will play next round against Afyon trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Balikesir will try to continue on its current victory against Pertevniyal in Istanbul.
