Regular Season Round 4: Hoverla - Mykolaiv 57-78

Bottom-ranked Hoverla is still unable to win any game. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their second consecutive match to sixth ranked Mykolaiv (2-2) 78-57 on Saturday evening. The game was mostly controlled by Mykolaiv. Hoverla managed to win third quarter 24-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Hoverla 39-24 including 26 on the defensive glass. Mykolaiv looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. The winners were led by center Oleksandr Kushnirov (208-92) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds and international swingman Dmytro Gliebov (198-88, agency: Beo Basket) supported him with 15 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Five Mykolaiv players scored in double figures. Even 8 points, 9 assists and 4 steals by American point guard Mackey McKnight (183, college: Lehigh, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) did not help to save the game for Hoverla. His fellow American import forward Ricardo Glenn (203-90, college: USC Upstate, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) added 9 points for lost side. Hoverla's coach Evgeni Murzin gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Mykolaiv moved-up to fifth place. Hoverla at the other side still closes the standings with two games lost. They share the position with Halychyna. Mykolaiv will meet Halychyna (#9) in the next round. Hoverla will play against the league's second-placed Ferro-ZNTU and hopes to get finally their first victory.
