Regular Season Round 4: Fortuna - Suduva 75-76

The most exciting game of round 4 in the LMKL took place in Klaipeda. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of 4th ranked Fortuna (2-2) to top-ranked Suduva (4-0) 76-75 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Fortuna. The guests trailed by 7 points at the halftime before their 41-33 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Suduva forced 21 Fortuna turnovers. Strangely Fortuna outrebounded Suduva 48-26 including a 19-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international point guard Santa Okockyte (175-92) who helped to win the game recording 23 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and the former international power forward Iveta Salkauske (197-82, college: Illinois) who added 20 points during the contest. At the losing side international Monika Grigalauskyte (190-92) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 22 rebounds and international swingman Marina Solopova (180-90) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points, 9 rebounds and 12 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Suduva have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 4-0 record, which they share with Utena. Fortuna at the other side keeps the fourth place with two games lost. They share the position with Kibirkstis-VICI. Suduva is looking forward to face Hoptrans-Sirenos Kaunas (#6) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Fortuna will play against Ruta-Univ. and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
