Regular Season Round 8: Wels - Zepter Vienna 67-79

Date: October 26, 2014
The game in Wels was also worth to mention about. Fourth ranked Zepter Vienna (6-2) played at the court of 6th ranked Raiffeisen Wels (4-4). Zepter Vienna defeated Raiffeisen Wels 79-67. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Raiffeisen Wels. The game was mostly controlled by Zepter Vienna. Raiffeisen Wels was better in fourth quarter 24-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The winners were led by the former international guard Stjepan Stazic (199-78) who scored that evening 17 points and 5 assists and the former international Jason Detrick (195-80, college: Oklahoma, agency: Three Eye Sports) supported him with 19 points. Even a double-double of 11 points and 10 rebounds by naturalized German power forward Tilo Klette (206-77) did not help to save the game for Raiffeisen Wels. American forward Maurice Barrow (196, college: Fairfield) added 13 points and 6 rebounds for the hosts. Four Zepter Vienna and five Raiffeisen Wels players scored in double figures. Zepter Vienna keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Kapfenberg and Gmunden. Raiffeisen Wels at the other side keep the sixth place with four games lost. Zepter Vienna's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Kapfenberg Bulls at home and it will be for sure the game of the week. Raiffeisen Wels will play against Xion Dukes (#7) in Klosterneuburg and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
