Another exciting game was played in Viernheim between eighth ranked Weiterstadt and 7th ranked TSV Amicitia where Weiterstadt (2-3) beat TSV Amicitia (1-4) on the road 58-48. TSV Amicitia was ahead by 10 points at the halftime before a 38-18 second half run of Weiterstadt. They dominated on the defensive end, holding TSV Amicitia to just 6 points in third quarter. American guard Heather Karner (180-86, college: Youngstown St.) orchestrated the victory by scoring 29 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Kristin Annawald (184-93) contributed with 11 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Guard Jennifer Mocanu (172) answered with 17 points and 5 assists and Canadian center Diane Schuetze (190-90) added 8 points and 14 rebounds in the effort for TSV Amicitia. Weiterstadt moved-up to seventh place in South. TSV Amicitia at the other side dropped to the eighth position with four games lost. They share it with Rhein MB II. Weiterstadt will play against Friendsfactory Germering (#10) at home in the next round. TSV Amicitia will play against ASC Theresianum Mainz and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
